Buttercream Flowers

I'm so used to working with chocolate so I have been taking a class on cake decorating. It has been so much fun and I definitely plan on continuing! This week we practiced making some simple flowers.

The cupcakes were so good! It was a fudge marble cupcake with a chocolate pudding filling. Yum!

Pizza Party Birthday!

I had a fun opportunity to do cupcakes for a little girls birthday party where they got to make their own pizzas. Her mom was thinking bakers hats would be fun so I was trying to figure out how could you do a bakers hat out of cupcakes. What better way then just creating a basic cupcake and making bakers hat shaped cake pops on top?! Each one had a child's name on it. It was so fun delivering these cupcakes and seeing the family's eyes light up!

I Love Cake Pops!

So cake pops might just be one of my favorite things to make. They are cute, yummy, and super convenient to eat. Here are some of the experiments from that super cute book I mentioned earlier. Just in case you are curious it is Bakerella's Cake Pops book. It's wonderful!
These are carrot cake and cream cheese icing covered in peanut butter :o)

Here are some puppies. Devil's Food Cake with Chocolate Icing covered in white chocolate.
These are some of my absolute favorite and they are pretty simple to make. The stripes take awhile but they are so cute they are worth it! This is spice cake with cream cheese icing covered in white chocolate.
Here we have really cute pandas made from chocolate cake and vanilla frosting. These are also covered in white chocolate.

Don't Hang This On Your Door

If you hang this cute little wreath on your door not only will it break but it will probably attract some unwelcome visitors over the holidays. This was a really fun yet tedious project. Each leaf painted with white chocolate. The result and the reaction of those who saw it were definitely worth the effort though. Best off all this was a yummy snickerdoodle cupcake. Definitely one of my favorites so far.

Cupcakes For A Cause

A few months ago our small group got the opportunity to serve with the Durham Rescue Mission. Every Saturday a group from our church goes in and cooks a meal for the people who live there. I just got the book What's New Cupcake and wanted to try making these fishbowls so I took on the task of doing dessert and decided I would make 100 fishbowl cupcakes for the families there. I had a blast making these cupcakes and seeing the reactions of the people there was such a great feeling. They turned out really well! My husband had to help me with such a tall order. He placed some of the fish and put on the eyes. He's such a great guy.

Thanksgiving Turkey

This was the second year we had family over to our place for Thanksgiving. Last year I wanted to do everything myself not realizing just how much work it really is! This year I left the deserts up to my mother-in-law, who by the way, made AMAZING desserts. I however did create a sweet little centerpiece thanks to OurBestBites.com. They were a hit and really easy to make.
