Andy's 27?!

I really typed this on January 27th but I just found it...so everyone just pretend it's nice and cold outside...

Yesterday was my wonderful husband's birthday. We celebrated with some friends last Sunday evening and of course I had to make him something super fun. When he was in high school he played golf and worked at a golf course so I thought what better than to make him a golf course out of cupcakes?! I'd seen a really cute picture of one and I think mine turned out quite well...

Birthdays

This past month I've had the opportunity to make a few cakes for people at work.

Here is a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream for a teacher's birthday:

This one took a lot of time but was a "blast" to make. It was another chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and it was the first time I had used rice cereal treats and I also found these awesome sparkler candles so it was really like lighting a fuse! This was for the principal's daughter. She is a great kid and LOVES softball. Her teams name is the "Bombs".

This last cake is up there as one of my favorites, right behind the baby shower cake. A tye-dye cake with chocolate filling. This was for a regular customer. Her daughter was having a Scooby Doo themed birthday party. I'd say this cake was a hit.

Garden Party

These sweet cupcakes were for a dear friend who had a garden/retirement party at her house. It was a blast getting creative with the display here and actually being able to stay and watch people's reactions as well as enjoy them.
These are chocolate with vanilla buttercream. The wrappers say It's Your Day:
These were a vanilla cake with raspberry filling topped with vanilla buttercream:
And here we have a lemon cupcake with a lemon cream cheese icing:
