Cakes

Here are a few of the actual cake cakes I've attempted:

There is an amazingly simple recipe for a chocolate chip cake! I have altered it and made it even easier! I use a french vanilla cake and french vanilla pudding mix to help keep the chocolate chips suspended in the cake. In between the layers is a yummy chocolate pudding filling with butter, chocolate chips, and vanilla. And it is covered in what else but a classic vanilla buttercream.

Here is a simple yellow cake with an amazing cream cheese filling and a vanilla buttercream frosting. I bet you couldn't tell I'm a fan of vanilla...
This was for a 12 year old birthday. The colorful dots were all piped out of white chocolate. Mmmm...

I had always wanted to try a character cake and this was quite fun! You had to use your imagination a little because after the crumb coat it was difficult to see the lines but I would recommend these cakes for anyone who wants to do something for their kids that is simple yet fun. It was kind of difficult to write on though since it is decorated with a ton of stars which makes the surface uneven.
I even filled this cake. It was a simple white cake with cream cheese filling. The black was a cocoa buttercream (better base color for making black) and the rest vanilla of course!

This was just something I threw together in a couple hours for a friend at work. Her birthday was coming up and I wanted to surprise her only I thought I had more time than I actually did, hence, the sloppiness. If you love lemon you would love this cake. It was a lemon cake with cream cheese filling and an extremely sweet lemony buttercream frosting.

One More...

I also had recently made these for my mother-in-law. It was the weekend of the superbowl and in her household she is slightly outnumbered. So for the boys I made some footballs and baseballs and for her I made these adorable little chicks! Spring time will be fun, I'll have to experiment with more season critters and things!

Baby Shower!

Two of our best friends are expecting their first baby at the end of the month. We are so excited for them and couldn't be happier! They will be wonderful parents. Today they had a baby shower so of course I had to make them something! Here we have Baby Cake Pops! They are a strawberry cake with vanilla frosting covered in white chocolate. Yum!

I also learned a cake pop stick is quite a fun toy for a 9 month old. Who knew?

Unicorns

My best friends niece was having a party and she LOVES unicorns! I was so excited to do these cupcakes for her! Her birthday was in February which was perfect since they have festive valentines colored candy corn. The pink cupcakes are strawberry with a strawberry buttercream and the purple are a cookie dough cupcake with a vanilla buttercream. I got to learn alot from this order. It was a larger one then I normally get and lets just say from now on I'm going to make sure that I make more then enough icing!

Happy Late Valentine's Day!

No cake says Valentine's Day better than a red velvet cake! Here we have a simple red velvet cupcake with cream cheese filling and a yummy peppermint cream cheese icing. I definitely wish I would have made more! They also go well with just a plain peppermint buttercream as well.
